Difference between man and woman at elite swimming events

Changes in sex difference in swimming speed in finalists at FINA World Championships and the Olympic Games from 1992 to 2013 So far we have tested for swimmers the gender difference in long to very long swimming trails as well as the difference between floats at a national and international level. There was still the difference between men and women on world class levels. We therefore examined the finalists of the Olympic Games and World Championships from 1992 to 2013.The final participants on Olympia and World Cup were able to increase their performance over the years. Women improved rather on the longer routes (800 and 1500m freestyle, 200m dolphin and 400m layers) while the men could rather increase on the shorter routes (100 and 200m freestyle, 100m dolphin and 100m breast).

The effect of drafting

Drafting Improves 3000m Running Performance in Elite Athletes: Is it a Placebo Effect? The term ‘drafting’ means behavior when an athlete is floating behind another athlete in its windshading, runs or wheel drives. Various work could show that this behavior improves performance significantly. In a current work, 10 elitates were investigated in a 3000 m run.Once the athletes in the windshadow and once outside the wind shadow were measured while physiological variables such as oxygen uptake and lactate values were measured. The runners were significantly faster compared to windshades running in comparison to no windshade.Surprisingly, the cardiairespiratory values were not different in contrast to the lackeep values, which run significantly differences between windshades and not in the windshade. Windshades running were also felt less exhausting from the athletes.

Marathon at 90 years

Marathon at 90 years in 6 hours 48 min At the end of October 2013, the 90-year-old Albert Stricker ran the SwissCityMarathon in Lucerne. He needed for the 42.195 kilometers 6 hours, 48 minutes and 55 seconds. Ironman Triathlons in 33 Tagen

33 Ironman triathlons in 33 days-a case study In autumn 2013, the 30-fold Ironman was completed in Lonato del Garda and athletes like organizers were of the opinion that the longest triathlon was ever completed in history. However, the native Frenchman Didier Woloszyn has already set a brand in the summer of 2013, which would hardly be exceeded in the next few years or decades. He completed an Ironman for 33 days every day.The total route of 7458 km (125 km swim, 5940 km cycling and 1393 km walk) crafted in 410 hours, where he needed 12 h 27 minutes per Ironman. In swimming and change times, he was slower over the 33-day, but he could keep his pace in cycling and keep running so that he remained constant with the overall time over the 33 days.

Does the wetsuit have an effect in long-distance swimming?

Swimming performances in long distance open-water events with and without wetsuit Until now, it could be clearly shown that swimmers benefit from a floating suit when swimming in a basin over short to medium routes. However, it has not been studied if a swimsuit brings something when the athletes swim on long to very long stretches in the open waters. And we do not know if men and women benefit equally. For this purpose, we examined the performance at 26 km long marathon swimming in Lake Zurich and 3.8 km long, Lake Ontario Swim Team Race. At both events, the floats can start either with or without swimsuit. In Zurich’s swimming, the swimmers were not faster with neoprene than the swimmers without neoprene if one compares men against women. However, the 10 fastest men with wetsuit were faster than the 10 fastest women without a wetsuit. In the ‘Lake Ontario Swim Team Race’ were the 10 fastest men with wetsuit faster than the 10 fastest women with neoprene. In addition, the 10 fastest men were without neoprene faster than the 10 fastest women without neoprene. The 10 fastest women with neoprene were faster than the 10 fastest women without neoprene.

Formula for calculating the half marathon time

Prediction of half-marathon race time in recreational female and male runners The half marathon track enjoys great popularity. In earlier work, we tried a formula to develop runners based on simple parameters to estimate the expected conclusion. This gave himself that the running speed in training for men like women is important. For women, the skin folds were added in the armpit and in the men of the BMI. In an evaluation with a larger number of cases showed that body fat and running speed in training for both men as well as for women the best variables are correlated with the half marathon time.We have now looked if we improve the existing formulas resp.can simplify.

Differences between man and woman in windshade drive

Sex and age-related differences in performance in a 24-hour ultra-cycling draft-legal event - a cross-sectional data analysis The difference in the performance of long-distance cycling was already examined for races in which windshade driving is prohibited as the ‘Race Across America’ or the ‘Swiss Cycling Marathon’. On a 24-hour race in Schötz on a completely flat course, windshading was not forbidden and the women had the opportunity to drive behind the men in the windshade. We have evaluated the results from 2000 to 2011. If all men and women were compared, the men did not improve the performance, but the women did not.The men achieved significantly more kilometers in the 24 hours as the women. The difference between the sexes was 19.7 ± 7.8% and did not change over the years. The age of the fastest drivers remained unchanged at the men at 35 ± 6 years, but the women fell from 38 ± 10 to 35 ± 6 years over time.

Breast swimming compared to freestyle

Changes in breaststroke swimming performances in national and international athletes competing between 1994 and 2011 - a comparison with freestyle swimming performances We have compared the performance of chillers from the 1994-2011 period for swimmers at national level (Switzerland) against floats at international level (World Cup finals). Swimmers of both levels improved their performance over the years with the exception of the swimmers on the World Cup level over 50m of men in breast swimming. The difference between the sexes took over the time for the freestyle swimmers at a national level, but not for the Freestilschwimmer at an international level and the chest swimmers, where the sex difference remained constant over the years.
