3rd Arbon Marathon

The 3rd Arbon Marathon took place on March 31. It started in Arbon, looped to Rorschach, and then looped to Uttwil.

There was lots of gravel, lots of wind, and lots of sun.

But the postponement by one day was a good idea, as there was a lot of rain on the planned day.

This is marathon number 439.

50 km run Arbon

To celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary, Ursula and Christian Marti organized a 50 km run in proper style.

Only a marathon would have been possible.

Unfortunately, there were no more finisher medals for the marathon course, so it had to be 50 km.

This turned out to be marathon number 438.

IUTA World Cup 2023

In recognition of the podium finish in the 2023 Overall World Cup, the IUTA presented us with a beautiful trophy.

This year is a marathon year.

Albert Stricker turns 101 years old

Albert Stricker is 101 years old this year.

During his active running career, he was several times double European champion in the 10 km and half marathon.

He also achieved a European record in his age category in the half marathon and marathon.

At the age of 95, he achieved a world record in the M95 age category in the 12-hour run.

Hohe Winde mountain marathon

The Hohe Winde mountain marathon took place on March 23.

A marathon course with an altitude difference of almost 2000 meters, garnished with wind and sleet showers, steep ascents and descents, slippery sections, and mud holes, is simply not suitable for a road marathon runner.

At least there was marathon number 437.

Muttenz Marathon

The 14th edition of the ‘Muttenz Marathon’ took place on Sunday, March 10, 2024.

The course leads over two laps with 500 meters of altitude difference each. The 1000 vertical meters were intended as preparation for the next marathon, which will have around 1800 vertical meters.

Reichenau Marathon

The second edition of the ‘Reichenau Marathon’ took place on Saturday, March 9, 2024.

After starting in Tägerwilen, the route led via Kreuzlingen around the island of Reichenau and then back to Tägerwilen via Wollmatingen and Constance.

Leap year marathon

On February 29, 2024, the first leap year marathon took place in Zurich as part of the 4th Hardhof Marathon.

The marathon was organized by Christian Marti.

It was Beat Knechtle’s 5th marathon since the start of the year and marathon number 434.
