Age of peak performance in elite male and female Ironman triathletes competing in Ironman Switzerland, a qualifier for the Ironman world championship, Ironman Hawaii, from 1995 to 2011 We have analyzed the competition times at the ‘Ironman Switzerland’ from 1995-2011 to find out what age the best times are achieved. We sought the age sought in which the best conclusion times are achieved, but also in what age the best times for swimming, cycling and running.The top ten were 33 ± 3 years old in men and 34 ± 4 years in men. For women, there was no difference in old age for the best swimmers, cyclists or runners during men the best swimmers with 29 ± 3 years were significantly younger than the best runners at 35 ± 5 years.
If you look at all the period, as well as the average age of the top ten men unchanged at 31 ± 3 years while the top ten women older were in progress of the years, from 30 ± 4 years in 1995 to 36 ± 5 years in 2011.
