No gender difference in peak performance in ultra-endurance swimming performance - analysis of the ‘Zurich 12-h Swim’ from 1996 to 2010. It is well known that men in the extreme pond provide better performance than women. However, there are exceptions and especially in extreme swimming women are able to keep up with the men.We have studied the performance of women and men on, 12-hour swimming in Zurich from 1996-2010. At the age of 19, men were better than the women.
Between 20 and 59 years the performance of men was the same as the performance of women. If you look at the annual best performance from 1996 to 2010, the women on average achieved many kilometers as the men. The whole results can be found under https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/23282209/
