Glomerular Filtration Rate is Unchanged By Ultramarathon A Polish group has studied the influence of a 100-KM run on renal function. Often the kidney function is determined on the basis of the determination of the creatinine or the estimation of the glomerular filtration rate. In this study, every 25 km laboratory was made during a 100 km run and to calculate the effective glomerular filtration rate.In 17 runners showed by the run an increase in creatinine, urea and uric acid. The creatinine has increased by around 25%.

It showed that a 100 km run to no restriction of renal function led to effectively calculate with the measured numbers. This finding is important for all ultra-rers, and the work can be found under https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/29283932/
