Pacing in a 94-year-old runner during a 6-hour run It’s been known for some time that 90-year runners are able to finish a marathon. The pacing for older runners has already been investigated, but we do not know how an over 90-year-old runner divides a longer barrel. We have studied a 94-year-old man at the 6-hour run ‘in Brugg a 94-year-old man who has completed a 6-hour run in preparation for a marathon for the M95 age group.During the 6 hours he reached a distance of 24.304 km. The running speed took practically linear over time. The measurements with bioelectric impedance as well as the determination of various laboratory values over time after the competition revealed that the run had no negative impact on the health of the runner.
Based on the linear decrease in running speed, we were able to calculate three different scenarios for the planned marathon. The complete work can be found under https://www.dovepress.com/articles.php?article_id=36673
