Effects of training and anthropometric factors on marathon and 100 km ultramarathon race performance As a rule, a later ultra-rider starts with a marathon. We compared characteristics of marathon runners with characteristics of 100km runners to find differences in physique (about body fat) and training (approximately running speed and volume). It was about to find the relevant variables and to refine the previous formulas even further to estimate with simple variables for the competition time for marathon and 100km.
It showed that the training volume for 100km was much more important than for marathon and vice versa the running speed was much more important for Marathon than for 100km.The aspect of the body fat is only relatively important, much more crucial seems the training. At work, there are now new formulas for the calculation of marathon and 100km times. The work can be downloaded below https://www.dovepress.com/articles.php?article_id=21503
