The Age in Swimming of Champions in World Championships (1994–2013) and Olympic Games (1992–2012): A Cross-Sectional Data Analysis 26 years ago, Schulz and Curnow examined the course of the age of Olympic Masters in Swimming 1986-1980. It showed that the age of women at 18 years and in men was 21 years ago and this age has remained constant over almost 100 years. We have now examined the age of the world champion and Olympic champion of the newer years across all styles and routes. Over the period of 1994-2013 for the World Cup and 1992-2012 for Olympia showed that the age of the winners remained constant.

On the longer routes (over 200m), the women (20 years) and men (22 years) were older than the shorter routes where women were around 22 years and the men were 24 years old. The whole work can be read below https://www.mdpi.com/2075-4663/4/1/17
